John M. Fahey, Jr. became the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Geographic Society in 1998, succeeding Reg Murphy.[1] Fahey also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees, as well as Chairman of its executive committee.
Fahey received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Manhattan College and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He was previously president of Time-Life Books. Fahey graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School (Bronx, NY) in 1969.
