John Foster (born Feb 26, 1961 in Essex, England) is a singer/songwriter who found fame when he joined the British synthpop trio the Bronski Beat in 1986,[1] after the departure of Jimmy Somerville.[2][3] The band's best known song during this period with Foster as vocalist was Hit That Perfect Beat. The song became a popular dance hit and reached number three in the UK charts in January 1986. In 1987 Foster left the band to join his next band Us. He is currently based in London and is still both producing new material and performing live.
