John Ford (bishop)
John Frank Ford[4] (born 14 January 1952) is the current Bishop of Plymouth,[2] a suffragan see in the Diocese of Exeter. He was educated at Southampton College of Technology[5] and Chichester Theological College. He was ordained in 1980[6] and began his career with a curacy at Christ Church, Forest Hill[7] after which he was Vicar of St Augustine, Lee and then Domestic Chaplain to the Bishop of Horsham. From here he became Diocesan Missioner for Chichester and then a Residentiary Canon at its Cathedral before his elevation to the Episcopate. Concurrently he holds the post of assistant bishop in the Diocese of Truro.[8] A keen cricket fan,[9] Bishop John is married with three children.
