Jhadupudi

Jadupudi or Jhadupudi (Telugu: జాడుపూడి) is a small village in Kanchili mandal of Srikakulam District in Andhra Pradesh. It is located in between the small towns Sompeta and Ichchapuram.

Geography

Jhadupudi is located at .^[1] It has an average elevation of 42 meters (141 feet).

According to Indian census, 2001, the demographic details of Jadupudi village is as follows:^[2]

• Total Population: 2,625 in 617 Households
• Male Population: 1,180 and Female Population: 1,445
• Children Under 6-years of age: 440 (Boys - 218 and Girls - 222)
• Total Literates: 1,184

Features

It has a primary school up to 7th class and it has its own railway station (Jhadupudi RS) nearly about 1 km distance from this village.

The village has nearly 500 households having the castes spread across Sondi, Reddika, Chakali and many other. It has a Lord Shiva temple which is a famous one. Even people from out side villages also visit regularly. In the heart of the village one Maha Vishnu temple is located. One Kali Devi temple is also located in the premises of the village.

It is Gram panchayat, which comprises the villages Golla Puttuga and Basava Puttuga, in addition to Jhadupudi.

For higher education people will go to ZP High School located at Jhadupudi RS which has the education up to 10th class. This school has produced a sizable number of engineers settled in different fields including Software professionals.
