Jelšane is a village in the Ilirska Bistrica Municipality in the Inner Carniola region of Slovenia, right on the border with Croatia. The Jelšane international border crossing between Slovenia and Croatia is just to the south of the village.[2]
The Parish Church in the settlement is dedicated to The Assumption of Mary and belongs to the Koper Diocese.[3]
