Jehosheba

Jehosheba (alternately Jehoshebeath) (Hebrew: יְהוֹשֶׁ֫בַעYehosheba, "the LORD is an oath"[1]), or Josaba, was the sister of King Ahaziah of Judah and the wife of Jehoiada, the High Priest of Judah. According to 2 Kings 11:2, she saved and hid her infant nephew Jehoash from the massacre ordered by his grandmother Athaliah. Then, Jehosheba and Jehoiada secretly raised Jehoash for six years in the First Temple built by Solomon, which in the time lay partially in ruins. On the seventh year, Jehoiada and the other priests concocted a plan to reestablish the Davidic line in Judah through the coronation of Jehoash (age seven). When the plan was taken in action, Athaliah overheard the noise of the people, when she into the Temple and found her crowned grandson next to a pillar, she rent her clothes and cried "Treason, treason!". Then Jehoiada ordered that she be slain but not inside the Temple, but in the Gate. And it was then that the reign of Athaliah ceased, and Jehosheba's nephew Jehoash began to reign.
