The Jedidiah Dudley House is a property in Old Saybrook, Connecticut that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is one of several Dudley and Whittlesey family houses clustered at a ferry landing in Old Saybrook, where lived operators of the ferry.
The house was lost and the family's financial condition was ruined, upon some conflict over customs revenues collected by Jedidiah Dudley.
Ferry service ran from 1662, when John Whittlesey and William Dudley were granted a charter, to 1911, when a highway bridge was built.[2]
The property is or was also known as John Whittlesey Jr. House.[1]
It was built or has other significance as of c.1750.[1]
The listing was for an area of 1 acre (0.40 ha) with just one contributing building.[1]
The listing is described in its NRHP nomination document.[2]
The house is located about 200 feet north of Exit 68 of Interstate 95, and is identified as one architectural resource that might possibly be affected by an I-95 modification.[3]
