Javier Escalza Ellakuria (10 December 1951-16 November 2007[1]) was a Spanish footballer.

Grew up in Villosa, goes first to Barakaldo and then to Athletic Bilbao, which debuted in the Liga, the 27 April 1974 on the Las Palmas-Athletic 1-0.
He won seven championships with los Rojiblancos, totaling 206 appearances, 162 of them in La Liga.[2]
In 1980 it was bought by RCD Espanyol, which is campaigning for another three championships in the Spanish league maximum, then decreases in the Segunda División with the Sabadell, to conclude his career in 1987 with the Sestao.
He has a cap with the Spain national football team, which occurred on 8 November 1978 in France-Spain 1-0[3], and three with the Basque Country national football team.
