Below is a list of Jatt Sikh clans and their population of the Lahore Division Division of Punjab, drawn up for 1911 Census of India. In 1911, this division consisted of six districts, Lahore, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Montgomery.[1]
The appearance of a particular tribe as Jat in the list does not in itself confirm that the tribe is Jat or otherwise. Identity may change with time, and some groups in the list may no longer identify themselves as Jats. This list is simply gives an historical distribution of Jat Sikh tribes in the Punjab province of British India, a number of years prior to the partition of Punjab. Almost all the Jat Sikh of Sialkot, Lahore and Gujranwala districts immigrated to Indian Punjab at the time of the partition of India in 1947, as these districts became part of Pakistan. In addition, Shakargarh Tehsil of Gurdaspur District also went to Pakistan.
