Jarrius Jackson is a former basketball player for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. In his three seasons as a guard, he scored 1,544 points, including a career high 657 in the 2005-06 season.[3] In a game against Nebraska, he scored a career-high 41 points.[3] He has also had 297 assists, and collected 150 steals. He made 153 3-point field goals in his career as well.
The son of Glenn and Glinda Jackson, he was born June 18, 1985 in Monroe, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School.[2][4] In 2006, Jackson was suspended from the Texas Tech team for academic reasons, but it wasn't long before he was able to be back on the court.[5][6] In his senior year at Texas Tech, Jackson was a recipient of the Lowe's Senior Class Award, recognizing his contributions on and off the basketball court.[7]
In recent years, he has played in Italy, first in Legadue and then for Casale Monferrato. Jackson signed a two year contract with Prima Veroli in July, 2010.[8]
