Jara, also known as Jera, is a Nigerian language spoken by 46,251 people as of the year 2000.[1] It is spoken in Borno and Gombei States, and in the Bui, Kwaya-Kusar, Akko, and Yamaltu-Deba LGAs.[1] It is an Afro-Asiatic language, in the Biu–Mandara language family.[1] Jara's usage is declining; it is slowly being displaced by the more common Fulfulde and Hausa languages.[1]
