Jan Muhammad (1943–2002) Urdu: جان محمد was an internationally renowned Pakistani film Director, born and brought up in Karachi. "King of Eids" title given by critics, Jan Muhammad has created more than 30 feature films, more than 2000 Ad Films.

He got his early education from St.Patrick's School then moved to DJ Science College for Bachelor's Degree.He joined Pakistan film industry in 1967 as an assistant camerman and got higher training in Cinematography from Belgium and France and done Agfa Gavert Cinematographer's Course from England.
The Waheed Murad and Shamim Ara starrer film Salgirah was his first film as an independent cinematographer followed by Chand Suraj and a number of other films by reputed film makers like Rangeela.In 1972 he joined the rank of producer and make Sehre Kay Phool as a co-producer followed by Dilnasheen and Parda Na Uthao, etc. As a Director Dekha Jayega was his first film which proved a big box office hit, he has directed Chaltay Chaltay, Hong Kong Kay Sholay, International Gorillay, etc. He is the only Film Director in Pakistan who has a record of continuate 13 super hit films as a director.
Jan Muhammad received numerous national and international awards in photography and direction including Agfa award and Screen Advertising World Association Award and an appreciation letter for his outstanding work from US Ambassador Mr.Joseph S. Farland.His name was a symbol of definite success at box office. Jan Muhammad was also a star maker,he introduced many stars like Moammar Rana, Sahiba and Saima Noor etc.
