James Douglas McComas (December 23, 1928 – February 10, 1994) was the 13th President of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, from 1988 to 1993.[1] McComas Hall was named for him.[2]
Prior to Virginia Tech, Dr. McComas was the 12th President of the University of Toledo, from 1985 to 1988 .[3] Home of the many fraternities and sororities, McComas Village was named after him.
He was Mississippi State University’s 14th president, from 1975-1985.[4]
