Jamal Patterson (born March 22, 1974 in New York City, New York) is an American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. He fought with the New York Pitbulls in the now-defunct International Fight League.

MMA career

Patterson, nicknamed "The Suit" is a world-class jiu-jitsu fighter with comparable striking skills. He opened his career with back-to-back victories over Alex Schoenauer and Matt Horwich, two established journeymen fighters. In February 2009, Jamal defeated Antwain Britt to win the vacant Ultimate Warrior Challenge (UWC) Light Heavyweight Championship.[1]

Outside MMA

Patterson is a former football player at Colgate University and a high school All-American in wrestling. Along with his International Fight League commitment, Patterson still works for the dental company Invisalign during the day, and he spends his nights training for his next MMA bout.
