Goncalves trains out of Gracie Barra Pitbull and Los Lokos Team in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Goncalves made his professional MMA debut in March 2005 where he submitted Vagner Tiburcio via Armbar. He fought many notable fighters including UFC title contender Junior dos Santos and Austria's Gerald Turek. He has fought in notable organizations including M-1 Global and K-1. None of his fights have made it out of round 1.
After defeating Gerald Turek at WFC 13, he will now face Turek’s teammate, Nandor Guelmino, at WFC 14 on June 12 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.[3]
