Jacques Jouvenal

Jacques Jouvenal (March 8, 1829 Pinache, Germany - March 8, 1905 Washington, D.C.) was an American sculptor.[1]

He immigrated to the United States in June 1853. He married Mary Houser, on August 17 1853, in New York City. They moved to Washington D.C. in 1855. He is buried at Rock Creek Cemetery.[2]

He sculpted a statue of Benjamin Franklin for Stilson Hutchins.

He sculpted portrait busts of Daniel Webster, Aaron Burr,[3] and General von Steuben.[4] He sculpted many gravestones including the Force Memorial.
