"Jackie" was a song recorded by various performers, originally penned by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly and recorded by Elisa Fiorillo in 1987 for the Summer School (film) soundtrack, as well as the British band Blue Zone in 1988, featuring Lisa Stansfield. It was re-recorded and released in October 1998 as a single by the Australian singer Joanne Accom, using samples from the original version by Blue Zone, under the stage name "B.Z. featuring Joanne". The single debuted in the ARIA Charts in October 1998, spending 26 weeks in the top 50 and peaking at No. 3 in February 1999, as well as reaching No. 5 in New Zealand.[1] It won an ARIA Award in 1999 for highest selling Australian single in Australia. The song was also covered by one-off bands Redzone and Zone 2 in 1999. The Accom version later appeared on her album Do Not Disturb.
