JaRon Maurice Rush (born April 12, 1979) is an American basketball player from Kansas City, Missouri. He played college basketball at UCLA and played professionally for the Los Angeles Stars of the American Basketball Association (ABA).

Rush played at UCLA along with current NBA star Baron Davis and former NBA player Jerome Moiso. He declared for the NBA draft in 2000 after his sophomore year, but was not selected. However, he was signed by the Seattle SuperSonics in that preseason, but due to drinking problems was eventually cut from the roster during training camp. Rush played for the Los Angeles Stars of the ABA in 2000–2001.[1]
He played high school basketball at The Pembroke Hill School, leading the team to three state championships. The state titles were eventually stripped after AAU Coach Myron Piggie pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge for paying $35,500 to five high school players on his Kansas City-based team from 1996-98. The players, aside from JaRon and his younger brother Kareem, were Corey Maggette, Korleone Young and Andre Williams, and also included actor Jason Sudeikis[2]
Rush won the James A. DiRenna Award as the best basketball player in the Kansas City metro area, winning it outright as a sophomore and junior, and sharing the award with Victor Williams of Wyandotte High School (and later Oklahoma State) as a senior.
His younger brother Kareem played for the Los Angeles Lakers (2002–2004), the Charlotte Bobcats (2004–2006), the Indiana Pacers (2007–2008), the Philadelphia 76ers (2007-2009), and the Los Angeles Clippers (2009–2010). His youngest brother Brandon was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers, then traded to the Indiana Pacers) in the 2008 NBA Draft.
