The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) is a scientific expert committee that is jointly run by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization.
The committee meets twice per year, alternating between Rome and Geneva, for evaluating substances. It is served by a joint secretariat located in the Food Quality Liaison Group of the FAO in Rome and the International Programme for Chemical Safety of the WHO in Geneva.[1]
