Ivanhoe is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Ivanhoe, on the Hurstbridge railway line. Ivanhoe is classed as a Premium Station and is in Metcard Zone 1 & 2 overlap.

Ivanhoe is located between Norman Street and Toora Street, with station access from both.

The station consists of two side platforms connected by a pedestrian overpass; Platform 1 has a large red brick building housing an enclosed waiting area, ticket facilities and toilets, while platform 2 has a smaller red brick building. A large Metcard ticket vending machine is located inside the waiting area, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. Additional coin only Metcard and myki ticket vending machines are located inside the waiting area on platform 1, and at the entrance to platform 2.

A footbridge is located at the Flinders Street end of the station.

History

Ivanhoe station opened on 8 May 1888.[1] Boom barriers replaced interlocked gates at Marshall Street in 1960.[2] It was upgraded to a Premium Station on 21 June 1996.[3]
