Family

Irene also has three older brothers, Juan, Pablo, and Miguel.

She is currently eleventh and last in the line of succession to the Spanish Throne.

She was baptized on 14 July 2005 in the garden of the Palace of Zarzuela, Madrid. Her godparents are Princess Rosario of Bulgaria and Pedro López Quesada. Cardinal Rouca Varela performed the baptism.

Irene lives in Barcelona with her parents and siblings, and is enrolled in the Carles Riba preschool, which her brother Miguel also attends.

Name, style and title

Irene was named after her grand-aunt, Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark, the sister of Queen Sofia. She was named "Todos los Santos" (All Saints), as it is customary among the Bourbons. This name is only granted to members of the royal house.

Since birth she carries the style "His Excellency". All the children of Infanta Cristina and Infanta Elena have the HE Don/Doña style, as befits the children of a Infanta of Spain.[1] Although they don't have a title, all grandchildren of King Juan Carlos are members of the Spanish Royal House.
