Ireland will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 and will select their entry through the national selection Eurosong 2012, organised by the Irish broadcaster RTÉ.

National Final 2012

On 3 November 2011, RTÉ started the call for songs for their national selection The Late Late Show Eurosong 2012. Like 2011, five mentors will help the hopefuls reach their aim of representing Ireland next year in Baku.[1] The five mentors are:

As with last year's Eurosong, it will be broadcast as part of The Late Late Show and the result will be decided by a combination of jury vote and public televote.[2]

Jedward's return

In an MTV interview, Jedward stated that they are interested in representing Ireland once again for Eurovision.[3] In November 2011, RTÉ announced that Jedward will participate in Eurosong 2012.[1] Their mentor will be Eurovision winner Linda Martin.[1]

At Eurovision

Ireland will perform in the first or second semi-final, held on 22 or 24 May respectively.
