Irecê is a city in Bahia with 62,197 people and an area of 313.695 km².

Notable features

It is the home of the "Academia Ireceense de Letras e Artes." It was also the site the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God chose for an industrial kibbutz.[1] It is an agricultural town known for growing black beans[2][3] and being a wine producing region.

Government

Their current mayor is Zé das Virgens of the Partido dos Trabalhadores.[4]
