Iraqi detainees at Guantanamo Bay

Nine Iraqi citizen were held in the United States's Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba.[1] Eight of them have been repatriated, four as late as 2009.[2] As of May 2011, 171 detainees remain at Guantanamo.[3] Among them Abdul Hadi al Iraqi the last Iraqi citizen in Guantanamo.

  • Capture in Gambia followed a denunciation by British intelligence, who had employed his as an informant against Abu Qatada.[7][8]
  • Released on April 3, 2007.[9]
