International Tech Park Bangalore or simply ITPB (earlier known as ITPL), developed and managed by Ascendas,[1] is India’s first hi-tech park of its kind designed to provide a complete "work and play" environment for IT and technology-related businesses opened in 1998.[2] It is unique in its 'work and play' concept, offering high-quality infrastructure combined with extensive amenities and recreational facilities and activities.
ITPB has a built-up area of over 2,000,000 sq ft (190,000 m2) with more than 233 companies and over 320,000 people comprised by the community working out of ITPB. There are six buildings, named Discoverer, "Innovator" , Inventor, Explorer, Navigator, Creator, and Pioneer. In addition to this, ITPB also boasts of its own five-star hotel 'Vivanta By Taj' which is operated by Asia's leading luxury hotel chain, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces.
Over 26 acres (110,000 m2) of land within ITPB has been notified as IT/ITES SEZ and earmarked for further development for multi-tenant and built-to-suit buildings. ITPB is also developing two customised built-to-suit facilities for IT and biotech majors. A 200-room five-star business hotel located at the park is expected to be operational soon.
In June 2002, it was conferred the prestigious World Teleport Property of the Year award by the New York-based Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). ITPB is also the recipient of the Best Decentralized Power Plant in Asia in the Third Annual Asian Power Awards 2007 for its dedicated power plant (DPP) and “Best Ornamental Garden Award” in a horticultural show conducted in January 2008 by Mysore Horticultural Society. ITPB has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification for operation and maintenance.

With the rise in terrorist activities around the world, the security at ITPB is well maintained and provided by G4S. ITPB uses many of the latest gadgets (including the ADE-651) to detect any illegal articles carried by individuals and vehicles into the premises. The efforts put in by the management into maintaining the security level is really amazing. The security personnel are well trained and work hard to ensure that the people working in the premises are safe.
