The International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS) is a platform for political science students and students interested in political science issues. The Association is international, politically independent, non-profit and student-run, and aims to have global impact in the political science sphere.
Founded in Leiden, The Netherlands in 1998, is composed by 80 Associations, mostly from Europe and Latin America. In 2003, it has established a Permanent Seat in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
IAPSS represents some 10,000 students of political science worldwide and works in partnership with the International Political Science Association (IPSA) and other international bodies to develop the study of political science worldwide.

The idea of an international Political Science students' network was first discussed in 1996, when students from Leiden University visited colleagues in Rome, Italy. The first IAPSS General Assembly was held in Leiden, The Netherlands in 1998, where the Association was incorporated.
During years, IAPSS evolved from network to a real "umbrella-association": in 2003, a Permanent Seat was established in Ljubljana, Slovenia; in 2004, the first stable Executive Committee (ExCom) was elected, which would have coordinated projects and activities on various levels directly from the Slovenian capital; in 2005, was deliberated the incorporation of a new Association in Slovenia, which succeeded the Dutch one.
By the end of 2010, IAPSS has grown to 80 Associations from 50 different Countries from Europe, Asia and Latin America. For the latter, has been established the first IAPSS Regional Centre, while another one is on his way for Western Balkans.
The bodies of the Association are:
The Annual Conference and General Assembly (AC/GA) is the principal event of the Association and is held yearly. It is organized by one of the Association Members, elected from the GA itself.
It is divided in two parts: the Annual Conference, made of seminars, lectures and debates, on a theme regarding Political Science, chosen by the Association Member who organizes AC/GA; and the General Assembly, which discusses and approves guidelines and elects the IAPSS bodies for next year.
