The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (Hindi: भारतीय प्रबंध संस्थान, लखनऊ, abbreviated IIM Lucknow or IIML) is an autonomous business school located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1984 by the Government of India, and is the fourth Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to be established. IIM Lucknow offers Post Graduate Diploma, Fellowship and Executive programs in Management. It is also engaged in Research and consultancy work with a focus on socially relevant projects.[2] IIM Lucknow serves as the mentor for IIM Rohtak and IIM Kashipur.[3] Major festivals organised by the institue includes Manfest (Business Conclave), INDEX (Market Research Fair) and Varchasva (Sports and Cultural Festival). Admission to the programs is done through Common Admission Test (CAT).[4]

IIM Lucknow was established in 1984 by the Government of India. It is the fourth Indian Institute of Management to be established in India after IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangalore.[5]
IIM Lucknow main campus spans 200 acres (81 ha) and is located in Prabandh Nagar on the outskirts of Lucknow. It is about 21 kilometres (13 mi) from Lucknow Railway Station and 31 kilometres (19 mi) from Lucknow Airport.[6] IIM Lucknow has a City Office and cabs are frequently flown between the city office and the campus.
IIM Lucknow has 6 academic buildings. The Bodhigrih I & II housing classrooms and test halls cater to the PGP course. The Faculty block named Chintan houses Programme office and FPM classrooms. The centre for Food and Agribusiness Management caters to ABM course. The MDP courses for Management Executives are held in an exclusive building called Manthan. The Library named Gyanodaya houses the Computer centre and videoconferencing hall as well.
The campus currently has 15 hostel blocks and around 80 faculty quarters. All the hostels have Wifi connectivity, Common TV room and Table tennis court. The Sports Complex named Umang houses a Gymnasium, Swimming pool and facilities for Table Tennis, Squash and Snooker. The Football ground, Cricket ground, Basketball court, Volleyball court, Tennis court, Indoor Badminton hall are constructed near the hostel blocks.[7] The Mess(Annapurna) is run by the student community. The campus also has a health centre, two Guest houses(Chanakya and Patanjali), two banks, a medical shop, a travel agency, a departmental store, a saloon, a coffee shop, an icecream parlour and three eateries. The multipurpose utility hall(Samanjasya) is used to host most of the cultural activities in the campus. Bigger Events and Music shows during fests are held in the Open air theatre situated between the academic block and Library.
A second campus, focusing on executive programs, was set up in Noida in 2005. IIM Lucknow is the first IIM to start an additional campus in the country.[8]
IIM Lucknow offers four main full-time academic programmes:-
IIM Lucknow also offers part time executive programs, the Management Development Programme (MDP), mostly from the Noida campus. MDPs are customized by subject or target group, for example a programme for defense officers[9] or a program focusing on human resource management.[10] All the academic programs are fully residential.
The institute's teaching method is based on case study analysis. The Management programmes are known for their rigorousness and are accredited by London based AMBA association,[11] which is regarded as one of the main global accredition bodies in business education. The students also get global exposure by spending 3 month term in a foreign university under the student exchange program. IIM Lucknow has made tie up with 24 universities in Europe, USA and China and has sent 53 students under the exchange program in 2010 while students from foreign universities spends 3 month term in IIM Lucknow.[12][13]

IIML was ranked #5 by the Business Today 50 best business schools of 2011,[14] and #4 by the Hindustan Times India's top 50 business schools of 2011[15] and by the 2011 edition of CNBC-TV18's The A List of B-Schools.[16]
Manfest is IIM Lucknow's Annual Business Conclave held in January. The 3 day event hosts many management contests, leadership summits and other inter college quizzes and competitions.[17]
INDEX is an annual market research fair conducted by the students of IIML. Students create games and various other simulated environments, to capture consumers’ subconscious thoughts. This innovative method of market research removes the sensitization effect that might bias peoples answers to questions. This ensures that the most truthful answers are captured to research questions. The games are designed in such a way that the observers can elicit all the required information just by observing and noting down the behaviour and the responses of the participants.[18]
Samvit, the annual leadership summit of IIM Lucknow witnesses some of the financial leaders and economists of the country and provides opportunity for the students to interact with them.[19]
