Ideum is a company based in Corrales, NM that produces multitouch tables and interactive web and media applications. The company was founded in 1999 by Jim Spadaccini, who created interactive exhibits for San Francisco's Exploratorium before becoming creative director at Ideum.[1] With strong ties to the field, many of the company's products and services are targeted at museums and other public spaces. The company's primary hardware product is the MT-50 multitouch table, which garnered recognition for its high resolution and large surface.[2] Ideum is partnered with the Swedish company Natural User Interface, which provides the table's underlying software framework.[3] The tables also use Ideum's proprietary software, GestureWorks, which allows the development of multitouch user interfaces in Adobe Flash.[4] Ideum has designed exhibits for Adobe Systems Inc., NASA, the Adventure Science Center in Nashville, California Science Center, and the National Park Service, among others.[1][3]
