"I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love" is a song by R&B singer, Stephanie Mills, and is the second single from the singer's 1985 self-titled album. The song was written by Angela Winbush and René Moore, of the singing duo Rene & Angela.
The single peaked at the summit of the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart, reaching number one for two weeks in May 1986. It was Mills's first number-one single on the chart and would prove to be one of her most successful singles in the R&B markets. However, the single did not make the Hot 100.[1]
