Hämeenkyrö (Swedish: Tavastkyro) is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 10,503 (31 January 2011)[2] and covers an area of 505.10 square kilometres (195.02 sq mi) of which 41.34 km2 (15.96 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 22.65 inhabitants per square kilometre (58.7 /sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

Frans Eemil Sillanpää, a famous Finnish writer and a Nobel Laureate in Literature, was born in Hämeenkyrö.
