Hârlău (also spelled Hîrlău, Romanian pronunciation: [hɨrˈləw]; Hebrew: ואלרח, German: Harlau, Hungarian: Harló) is a town in Iaşi County, Moldavia, Romania. As of 2004[update] the estimated population is 11,271. It was the capital city of Moldova in the 15th century. One village, Pârcovaci, is administered by the town.
A majority of the inhabitants are Romanians. A large Jewish minority used to live in Hârlău.
