Hypseus

In Greek mythology, the name Hypseus (Ὑψεύς) may refer to:

Hypseus, King of the Lapiths, son of the river god Peneus by the naiad Creusa, daughter of Gaia.^[1] By Chlidanope^[2] he had four daughters: Cyrene,^[3]^[4]^[5] Themisto,^[6] Alcaea and Astyagyia (who married Periphas).^[7]

Hypseus, who fought on Phineus' side against Perseus. He killed Prothoenor, but was himself slain by Lyncides.^[8]

Hypseus, son of Asopus, who fought in the war of the Seven Against Thebes^[9]. He killed a number of opponents, including Antiphōs, Astyages, Linus, and Tages, and was himself slain by Capaneus^[10].
