Hyperoside is a chemical compound. It is the 3-O-galactoside of quercetin. It is a medicinally active compound that can be isolated from Drosera rotundifolia, from the Stachys plant, from Prunella vulgaris, from Rumex acetosella, Cuscuta chinensis seeds and from St John's wort.
In Rheum nobile and R. rhaponticum, it serves as a UV blocker found in the bracts.
It can have a protective antioxidant effect on cultured PC12 cells.[1]
