Hunter and Cook is a Toronto based art and culture magazine. Founded in 2008, it is published 3 times a year by visual artists Tony Romano and Jay Isaac. As well as in-depth articles and interviews with contemporary artists, the magazine also features curated projects made specifically for the magazine by invited artists.[1] The magazine has been featured in Eye Weekly[2], and The Coast.[3]

The publication's mandate is to solidify and publicize like-minded contemporary art communities within Canada.[4] The magazine has stated that, "as artists, and not designers, our intention is to present visuals in a simplistic, straight forward way that focuses more on the artists work than the magazine design. Unlike most art magazines, we are more interested in presenting work rather than reviewing it."[5]
Hunter and Cook is a 9"x13", perfect bound, 96 page publication.
Hunter and Cook Projects, is a web and project based group of artists affiliated with the magazine.
In 2009, the magazine commissioned artist Adam David Brown to create 50 'cut copies' of its fifth issue.[6]
