Hukeri (Kannada ಹುಕ್ಕೇರಿ )is a panchayat town in Belgaum district in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Geography

Hukeri is located at .[1] It has an average elevation of 631 metres (2070 feet).

Hukkeri is a name which is derived from two words 'hoovina' + 'kere' means it was a place where plenty of flowers were grown and were supplied to Adilshah of Bijapur.

Sankeshwar is a business city comes under Hukkeri Taluk, which is known as it is on National Highway.

As of 2001 India census,[2] Hukeri had a population of 19,906. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%.
