Hugh Heywood

The Very Rev Hugh Christopher Lempriere Heywood[1] was an eminent Anglican priest[2] and author [3] in the mid 20th century.
He was born on 5 November 1896[4] and educated at Haileybury and Trinity College, Cambridge. After World War I service with the Manchester Regiment [5] he was ordained in 1926.[6] He held curacies at St Andrew’s the Great, Cambridge and Holy Cross, Greenford after which he was a Fellow, , Tutor and Dean at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge until 1945. From then until 1969 he was Provost[7] of Southwell. He died on 8 May 1987.[8]
