Hombal has three schools which consists of a boys school, a girls school and a co.ed high school. The schools are all government schools. They have some good grounds as well.
The inner road system in Hombal is like any other rural city with kachha roads. The roads can certainly be improved to a good extent.
The sanitary system can also be improved.Though dry latrines have been banned by the constitution some houses still have them. But one good change made is that there are no manual scavengers.
The males are mostly involved in agriculture and heavily depend on rainfall for their yield.
As of 2001 India census, Hombal had a population of 7860 with 3964 males and 3896 females.[1]
