Chauncey Hollis, better known as Hit-Boy is an American Grammy Award Nominated hip-hop, R&B and contemporary platinum-level music producer currently signed to GOOD Music [1] Born Chauncey Hollis, on May 21, 1987 in Fontana, California, he is the son of Chauncey Hollis Sr. and Tanisha Bedford. He is best known for his production on Lil WayneDrop the World” Feat. Eminem, Pusha T “My God”, Kanye West “Christmas in Harlem", and Jay-Z & Kanye West “Niggers in Paris.”

Career

Hit-Boy got his start on Myspace when he received a message from Polow Da Don stating simply “Let’s get this paper.” He has produced for legendary artists such as Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Eminem, 50 cent, Mary J Blige, Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez, Snoop Dogg, and several others.

The California native is one of the founding members of the collective brand Surf Club (along with fellow beat makers Chase N.Cashe, BCarr, and Chili Chill). Surf Club has become a team to host a number of artists as well as songwriters and other producers. Surf Club originated in southern California. They got their start in the industry in 2007, after linking with Polow Da Don's Zone 4 (record label), an imprint of Interscope Records.

Hit-Boy began his work with Kanye West when he produced his GOOD Friday track, “Christmas in Harlem”[2], Big Sean, Pusha T, Musiq Soulchild and Cyhi Da Prynce.

On May 2, 2011[3] he signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music Label, and is one of the producer’s on the collaborative “Watch the Throne” album created by Kanye West and Jay-Z.

Personal life

Hit-Boy Hollis is the nephew of Rodney Benford, from the R&B group Troop (band).
