HeyStaks is a social search company. It works via an iPad app [2] an Android tablet app [3] [4] [5] an iPhone mobile app [6] [7], an Android mobile app [8], a Chrome app and a Firefox app [9].
The service is based on the notion of users communities. Each Community is user-created entity that holds popular and highly rated search results on a given topic from a range of search engines. Heystaks is one-stop search solution. The user can access to focused content from different channels: web, realtime, news, images.
The company is a startup based in Dublin and San Francisco, and was founded by Barry Smyth, Peter Briggs and Maurice Coyle.

Heystaks was founded in 2008 and is based on technology developed by a group of researchers in search, data mining and personalization.[10] In 2009 they released version one of their software,[11] although it was only available as part of a private beta which users had to request an account for. On January 13, 2011 the service was made public [12].
The service was introduced in the US market at the DEMO Spring 2011 Conference [13]. At this event the iPhone app has been presented to the public for the first time.
In September 2011 HeyStaks participated at the final events of the Vodafone Mobile Clicks competition representing Ireland [14] [15] [16] [17] [18].
In September 27, Heystaks launches the social search app for iPad and Android tablets [19] [20] [21] [22] [23]
In October 2010 Heystaks secured funding of 1 million euro The Ulster Bank Diageo Venture Fund, which is managed by NCB Ventures. The fund is being used to develop the companies product, open an office is San Francisco and employ 40 staff by the end of 2013.[24]
Tablet apps have been launched the 26th of September 2011 [25]. The supported devices are iPad and all Android tablets.

Mobile phone apps are the first work out of the browser context. With the mobile phone app the user can see community recommendations, create communities, tag and share contents.
The browser app is available for Chrome and Firefox users.
