Hernán Córdoba (2 November 1989 – 20 September 2009) was a Colombian footballer who played for Atlético Huila in the Copa Mustang.[1]

Córdoba began his career with Olimpia Fútbol Club de Palmira and was 2006 scouted from Deportivo Cali, he joined than in January 2007 for six months on loan to Córdoba F.C., before turned back in July 2007.[2] After few years with Deportivo Cali joined in January 2009 to Atlético Huila and was in summer 2009 linked with SV Werder Bremen,[3] he played until his death on 20 September 2009 for Atlético Huila.[4]
Córdoba played as a striker or an attacking midfielder.[5]
Córdoba was member of the Colombia national football team at Under-17 and Under-20 level.[6]
He died in a car accident on September 20 while returning to the city of Neiva[7] along with his teammate Mario Beltrán.[8]
Herman was the brother of soccer player Giovanni Córdoba who died in 2002 after being hit by a lightning strike during a training session.[9]
