Henrik Sjögren

Henrik Samuel Conrad Sjögren ( /ˈʃɡrənz/; Swedish: [ɧœˈɡrɪən];[1] July 23, 1899, Köping - September 17, 1986, Lund)[2] was a Swedish ophthalmologist best known for the eponymous condition Sjögren's syndrome. Sjögren published a doctoral thesis in 1933 titled "On knowledge of keratoconjunctivitis)[3] that eventually served as the basis of Sjögren's syndrome. He had one child born in 1934 named Gunvor.

Henrik Sjögren should not be confused with Torsten Sjögren, the "Sjögren" in Sjögren-Larsson syndrome.
