Hebari is a rope bondage artist and educator based in Sydney Australia. As a member of the Sydney rope community Hebari has been partly responsible for the social and educational events that have increased acceptance of BDSM and rope bondage more specifically within the Sydney region.[1] More recently Hebari has worked to promote Shibari and rope bondage in general to both the Sydney and wider communities through the production of a series of online resources that are now being widely recognised in the rope bondage and BDSM communities.[2][3][4]
In late 2010 Hebari started Naturally Twisted Co, a website to disseminate information about Japanese rope bondage which had previously been difficult to find due to the small amount of Japanese literature that had been translated and disseminated. Previously people such as Go Arisue and Midori (author) had written about the topic however very few video tutorials were available in English along with detailed written instructions. In 2011 Naturally Twisted Co was expanded to include rigging equipment and hand made rope[5]
Director and producer of Love and Rope, a documentary about the western interest in Japanese rope bondage. Love and rope is currently in production and is due for release mid 2012.
Hebari has performed through Australia for over three years with regular appearances at Sydney's fetish event Hellfire.[6][7]
In early 2011, after training with teachers including Go Arisue, Osada Steve, Satomi Zpira and Hajime Kinoko, Hebari began teaching Japanese rope bondage to the Sydney community. Over the course of 2011 the rope classes have grown to include Sydney's first rope dojo, teaching Shibari based largely on the style of Hajime Kinoko and Osada Steve.
