HAZCO's services include Environmental remediation, Facility decommissioning & Demolition, Waste management, Environmental construction, Environmental technologies including Water Treatment, Hazmat Emergency response, Landfill services and management of Drilling wastes.[1]

HAZCO managed projects include the remediation of Vancouver Canada's Pacific Place lands, which became the Vancouver Olympic Village, the demolition and steel recovery of the Ocean Falls pulp mill on Vancouver Island, remediation of the historic Brittania Mine, and demolition of downtown Vancouver's Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) building.[2]

History

Originally formed in 1989, in 2004 HAZCO became a subsidiary of the CCS Corporation Group of Companies after being acquired for reportedly $82 Million.[3] David P. Werklund and a group of six private equity funds were successfully able to purchase all outstanding shares of the CCS Trust in 2007 in order to take the entire company private. The 2007 buyout was for a sum totaling approximately $3.5 Billion (Canadian).[4] The CCS Group of Companies includes other firms, such as: Concord, Lionhead and Prodrill.

HAZCO's Corporate office is based in Calgary, Alberta with other offices and facilities in B.C., Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Nunavut and Nova Scotia. HAZCO is also located in Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon and Peru.[5] HAZCO's Clients include Native Groups, Federal, Provincial and Municipal Government, "Big Oil" Firms, other Large Industry, Consulting & Engineering Firms and other Private Business. Hazco partner companies include HMI Industries,[6] Normcan,[7] BECK Drilling,[8] and Peninsula Waste Water.[9]
