Havøysund is the administrative centre of the Måsøy municipality, Norway. Its population in 2006 was 1,125. Located on Havøya, but is connected to the mainland through the Havøysund Bridge.

Norsk Hydro has built a windmill park on the island, which has become a landmark for people at sea. The 15 windmills take 30 minutes by foot to reach from the town and are located at the Gavel, where the viewpoint and cafe Arctic view provides an undisturbed view towards the Barents Sea and to the surrounding arctic archipelago.

Måsøy Museum is located in Havøysund, the centre of the municipality of Måsøy. The museum was established in a building that was originally built as a rectory. The collection of items consists in large parts of tools and technical equipment as used by fishermen through the 1900s. There are in addition several fixed exhibitions such as kitchen, living room, schoolhouse and line baiting booth.

The connecting bridge to the mainland was opened by the late King Olav. Havøysund is a fishing village which offers a generally wide range of common services. Here are fishing factories, a boat yard, a petrol station, doctors, a church, various shops, a sports hall, as well as a second museum, just to mention some of the things you will find here. Havøysund also has a varied and lovely architecture; all the way along the beach one finds post-war houses, the so-called “gjenreisingshus” (the houses built after World War II all had the same design). Up in the valley there are houses from later decades.

The local supermarket is part of the chain Coop Marked branch, a subsidiary of the Coop company, similar to the Tesco Extra of Tesco in the United Kingdom.

The closest airport to Havøysund is Lakselv Airport which is situated 104km off the island of Havøysund. The airport has flights to Oslo for connecting flights which run on a regular basis.

Havøysund is also a stop on Hurtigruten, between Hammerfest and Honningsvåg.
