"Hasta Que Te Conocí" ("Until I Met You") is a song written, produced and performed by Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel. It was released in 1986 as the second single from his studio album Pensamientos. This song deals with a man who has never learned about suffering or sadness until he love fell in love with a woman. It peaked at number-two in the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart on May 2, 1986 for five weeks, which was being held off by Braulio's song, En Bancarrota.[1]

In 1994, Juan Gabriel re-recorded the song with Argentine pianist Raúl di Blasio. This version peaked #36 on Hot Latin Tracks.[2]

In 1993, Puerto Rican-American salsa musician, Marc Anthony, recorded his own cover of "Hasta Que Te Conocí" on his salsa debut album, Otra Nota. This was the first solo single of Anthony and his first song to be recorded in salsa. This version peaked #13 on Hot Latin Tracks.[4] According to Anthony, he asked RMM president Ralph Mercado if he could record the song in salsa after hearing it on the radio during a taxi ride.[5]
