Harvey Hendrick

Harvey "Gink" Hendrick^[1] (November 9, 1897 - October 29, 1941) was an American major league baseball player who played for several different teams during an eleven-year career.

Born in Mason, Tennessee, Hendrick attended Vanderbilt University. He began his career with the 1923 New York Yankees, a team which won the World Series (Hendrick was purchased by New York from the Boston Red Sox, for whom he never played a game). After one more year with New York, he began a journeyman existence, playing for six more teams; his longest stay with any one team was five years with the Brooklyn Robins.

Hendrick committed suicide in Covington, Tennessee, on October 29, 1941.
