Jacob Harry Maguire (born 5 March 1993 in Sheffield, England) is an English footballer who currently plays for Sheffield United. He attended St.Mary's RC High school in Chesterfield (Newbold) from 2004-2009.
Playing career
After coming through the youth ranks at Sheffield United, and with the side struggling against relegation, he was promoted to the first team squad, making his début after coming on as a half-time substitute and winning the man of the match award in a home game against Cardiff City in April 2011.[2] He made four further appearances that season but could not prevent the club from slipping into League One.
Maguire scored his first goal for the Blades in a 2-0 win at Oldham Athletic on the opening day of the 2011/12 League One season.[3] After being ever present from the start of the season Maguire was handed an extended deal in October keeping at Bramall Lane until 2015.[4] In December 2011 British tabloid The Sun linked Maguire to a £3 Million transfer to Newcastle United during the 2012 January transfer window.[5]
