Harold Housten "Hal" Rice (February 11, 1924 – December 22, 1997) also known as "Hoot", was an American left fielder in Major League Baseball for all or parts of seven seasons, from 1948 until 1954, for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs.[1] Most of his career was spent with the Cardinals, where he backed up Stan Musial in left field.
