Gurmatkal (Kannada: ಗುರುಮಠಕಲ್, gurumathakal) is a panchayat town in Yadgir district in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Gurumathakal had a population of 16,927. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Gurmatkal has an average literacy rate of 50%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 60%, and female literacy is 40%. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. It is located 155 km from Hyderabad, Gurmatkal is famous by An Ayurvedic Hospital specialized for only curing Paralysis Patients.
