Gudivada is a census town in Krishna district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a mandal headquarters with more than 100,000 inhabitants, lying as junction of Vijayawada-Machilipatnam-Bhimavaram-Nuzvid-Eluru in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh of India.

As of 2011[update]India census,[1]Gudivada had a population of 1,18,289. Males constitute 49.82% of the population and females 50.18%. Gudivada has an average literacy rate of 82.16%, higher than the national average of 74.04%%: male literacy is 86.39%, and female literacy is 77.98%. In Gudivada, 8.4% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Gudivada falls in the hot humid region of the country and it is less than 40 miles from Bay of Bengal. The climate of the town is very hot and it is pleasant during the winter. The hottest day falls in the month of May with shift to June during some years. The maximum temperature observed is 50.3C and the minimum temperature observed is 12.90C.

Food in Gudivada is typical of Andhra Pradesh and Krishna district food, mostly rice and curries associated with it. Food will be very spicy. You have many commercial food places (hotels) near main road and Nehru chowk.

Being a mandal headquarters. Gudivada is a financial centre. Most of the income is generated from agriculture and fishing. Gudivada has got its significance in the agricultural field way back in 1946 when the Pioneer industry in manufacturing of all sorts of agricultural implements was founded by Late Sri. Kurumaddali Venkata Chalapati Rao popularly known as Pantulu gari shed was established. Gudivada being in heart of Krishna district is great place for real estate business. Trade mostly depends on agricultural yields in that season from the nearby regions. However, jewellery and gold business and cinema seems to have a special place.
